Pre-Departure-Preparation

Getting your head round moving to another country is quite a task! Psychologically it's a massive milestone and there is physically a lot of stuff that needs to be done before taking off.

The last few days have mainly been spent sorting, filing, making list after list after list and drowning slightly in the thought of packing enough stuff for 9 months yet somehow fitting it into the required weight and size restrictions laid down by EasyJet. Wonderful!

One thing I've learned is that there will always be more things than you can think of yourself and talking to others who are also about to go on their year abroad or have just returned has been invaluable. It doesn't matter what country they're off to, it's the same experience complete with the same set of worries and complications to battle. A problem shared is a problem halved.

An update on my preparation: accommodation is finally sorted! It took a bit of frantic searching after my first option fell through but I've found what looks to be a wonderful flat in a perfect location with a lovely flatmate! Things are finally coming together (not that I was worried at all that it wouldn't...) and it's a massive tick off my list.

Now onto everything else...
